Tableau es tres chic!

The Vases of the Lady of Nylon Outfitters...

Why hello there lovelies! Been quite some while, but I've been painstakingly searching the grid.  I have found quite a number of lovely little places. Of course, I had to start with one that I had always loved from it's conception. Not many times do you look at a sim and just spend hours wondering around and shopping like mad. Taking pictures and trying to create fiends with all the folks there.  Tableau made by the Tableau Sisters, Toast Bard, Nylon Pinkney, and Polyester Partridge, among others is a painstakingly well made sim. With splashes of colors everywhere and a very funky ambience. You feel like you went to Mexico, to a small town where a war once took place, and one with a quirky history too. Dinosaurs and circus included.

There is much to see and do, and to be honest you really should just go to explore and admire the work with friends. Wear a bicycle from What Next, or simply get one from the sim which you can ride around in. A very refreshing look at second life.  So just go and enjoy.

Let the drum-rolls begin for the collection of pictures....

I decided to wear my simple, shopping outfit for today. A collection of most of my older sculpted items, and some mesh pieces. It's simple, but I loved it for that. I didn't want to look too detailed since the main focus was the spot.

Mudshake.. is no more... and thus I weep....

It isn't hard to see that I love color or funky decor. It runs in my blood.  My grandmother has a shabby chic apartment in real life, and my mother has her sea-shell-life-by-the-seashore meets kitschy 50's decor, and I had to be the one that loved color and went for suzani's, shells, 50's vintage, and birds.  So it's not surprising that this love for the funky kitsch colorful style translated into second life, and became an obsession once I realized there were creators that worked those color schemes and funky textures. Queue, Isolahara Cattaneo, and one of her small cabins and a mad neighbor that decided to use one of her builds, and there you have my first introduction to the funky side of second life.

To be honest, when I came into second life I really wasn't thinking about fashion or decor,  I had enough of a shopping addiction to really want to deal with it in second life so I simply toured the sims, roleplayed a bit, and just gave up after a couple of months. That was back in 2007, when I had my blue haired leather look. Then, when I came back in 2008, I simply stayed roleplaying for about three months before I discovered Icing, and a couple of other vintage stores. That created an obsession with clothes. Around the middle of 2008, I realized that there were very well made furniture pieces. I got the itch, and eventually rented my first parcel. I made an elegant, and middle eastern house as you should be aware. The color scheme was neutrals and red, and it was very methodical and very pretty but it was just too impersonal.  Suddenly out of the blue a new neighbor popped in, and her chosen house was the Blue Frida house from Mudshake. I could hear the violins and the classical music play in my ears, as I fell in love with it. You might have also seen me prancing to it too.  Before long, I was constantly visiting the Mudshake store, and buying pieces here and there with the idea of creating a small beach house. Within a year, I had moved from the large, Dubai build to the small beach house with a funky cottage look. And I do admit that one of the biggest reasons for this change was the darn Frida house that was soo cute.   Thus, as an homage for one of my favorite builders in second life, I will post a couple of shots from a week ago on the sim, in what was and is my favorite Mudshake house.

I made this a collage with a couple of colorful real life images.

Mudshake at it's best...

Since I was simply just shopping,  I decided to just wear my simple capris and a nautical striped shirt under a blazer. It's crisp, and simple but has a romantic aspect to it with the addition of the floral flats and the necklace. The bag of course is my big one for those heavy shopping days.

Skin: (FD) Bird Skin- Dust 4 (Freckles)
Hair: !Lamb, Frosti- Restaurant Ketchup
Shirt: C'est La Vie! Summer Border Tee (Border Red)
Pants: .:Vive 9:. Relaxed Chino
Jacket: Jane - My Maggie Jacket in Pewter
Necklace (Yummy) Classic Literature Necklace - Multiple (Collabor88)
Shoes: +Mocha+ Flower Flat (Gacha) C
Bag: Armidi (Previously Posted)

As for the funky textures. The one on the right upper corner is actually a rug that I bought from Urban Outfitters which is one of my favorite real life stores, and the second one on the bottom is actually a Swedish folk print, which has the colors of the room.

Mudshake unfortunately was closed this week. It was a great place to shop and take pictures and while it wasn't mesh or the most modern of furniture styles it was such a unique shop that I am already missing it as we speak.

Work can be a chore... but a romantic night can always help....

Argh, where's my chocolate?

Sorry lovelies,  I had a tough few weeks at work. If any of you there know what accounting departments can be like when audited well you know how I feel. I had a few great weeks in second life. I edited my home just a bit, re-textured some posters, and added a couple of things. It's not a huge deal, but it does make the house look great. I also went to several fairs.  I love fairs by the way, but enough about that. Let me post a few shots of when I visited Zigana. I absolutely love that store, from the way it is set up to the items sold. The colors and pallet used is warm and very cozy, it reminds me of my grandmother's house and the old photographs of my family in Havana, and of the even older images of my family in Spain. It's rich in hues, warm in colors, and textures. Woods, and stones, and a very bohemian spot to just relax and converse in. I would also suggest for you to just sit and take a few shots there, as well as contribute by purchasing an item you like.  But hidden in the sim is a lovely spot that you shall see, a gypsy camper with chairs all mismatched around a colorful table, adorned by mismatched items and chinese lanterns. It's a lovely setting, beautiful and romantic as well as bohemian.  An inspiration to any decorator, or anyone that likes a funky look to their sl home.

Oh just waiting for the cup of coffee and flirting with that dashing cat in the corner, rawr, oh wait darn why did he just decide to chase the mouse?

For attire I chose the simple colorful shirt from Mimikri in cool tones, purples and blues, with the matching Chantkare earrings. Stunningly gorgeous and yet laid back. The hair is as laid back style from Lamb in of course my favorite color, yes you got that right red! The jeans are the dark rinse Mon Tissu, and no they are not mesh, but they are so well done that I will forever hold them as my favorite pair of skinny jeans. I decided to go for flats, to make the outfit look like a laid back Sunday look, a simple pair of flats from Mon Tissu in a dark blue color were the perfect match. Of course, I couldn't complete the look without my Armidi bag, gold and simple it holds everything that I might need. Let's see, scavenges through the bag and cringes, argh... my Anthropologie wallet, my small Target makeup bag, with five lip colors and three cheek colors, and yes two eye shadows. Rummages further, argh yes I have my multi-vitamins, green tea pills, acai ones, my cinnamon ones, and yes I have the zinc and echinacea ones, so sue me I want to be as healthy as possible.  Then continues on further, sorry yes I have two perfumes, argh I couldn't decide it to wear Hermes or Tocca. Looks further in the bag, yes I know, I have my darn floss but I need it! Then continues on, the ipod comes out, the smartphone virgin mobile, the brush, the sunglass case, a notebook for random scribbling, a pack of gums, and about twenty other random and nonsensical items are tossed on the table. Well, that's it folks!

Ah, just waiting for my date, and wondering how the food tastes like in the bistro... hmm, yum yum!

Hidden over the little town, lies a bohemian rhapsody to make you wish you could dace like a fae!

Alright lovelies, I will leave you with this information since I forgot the exact name of the items that I am wearing. That being said, my skin for these pics was the Slasher four set from Fashionably Dead, the hair is Lost from Lamb, and the rest is from the merchants that I previously indicated. Enjoy!

Take a ride on the big sl jet.....  Zigana

As I write this lovely journal entry on my ancient notebook.... I listen to the following old but lovely song:

Restful Sunday

Hello dears, I just had to relax for a bit...
After myriads hours of work or as I call it, the never-ending purgatory, I just had to take a day off and relax in my own "little" home.  (Oh I know the Lion will kill me for telling you of all the work he gives me). Winks. You already are familiar with some of the styles that I like. In fact, I have already given you a sneak peek. Here's another tour of my abode.

My house and lot for that matter, were inspired by the Martha's Vineyard beach side residences. Quaint- wooden houses, with a bit of pines and maples, and a nice beach out back. In addition, I looked at my northern neighbors in Northern Florida, cute, wooden structures with a forest-like front and side area and a simple beach out back.  I was a bit adamant to to try this combination at first though,  I had previously seen beach theme and forest theme, but never a merging of both styles. Nevertheless, after months of working on other's homes, and replicating my Middle-Eastern/Ecclectic style, I decided to jump into this project with great eagerness and determination.

It took my three long months of working on my one-fourth sim, plot and though dead as a doormat, my house came out as I had envisioned it.  I think it came out gorgeous, don't you think? I will show you more pics in the coming months. I might just want to take long naps on that What's Next set. Or lean on the New Trails tree and read a newspaper. Walk around to the border of the sea and rest on a Naiman rock with a glass of lemonade, or even walk back to the garden shed and just pick a spot to plant flowers in.
Now, as for my clothes selection..  I just absolutely loved the texture in the skirt part on the Villena dress. It just is spring-inspired and so easy to wear and matched with the light lime on the top. The skirt had the same color as my previously acquired pair of shoes from Tesla, a simple pearlized pink pumps that match with quite a bit of my ensembles.  To complete this uber chic and simple look, I used the new Lagyo necklace from the FairyTale Fair. Yes I did take a few minutes to go there, and though it was a bit laggy it was a great place to see talent and to shop it.  Kisses XOXO.

Irish in Me

Hello from Alchemy Immortalis!

"I once was an Irish for a day, and drank enough ale to fill the barn with hay."   - Me singing at the top of my longs and Sl-Irish old folk song.

I've been foolishly giddy today. Maybe it's the ten cafe con leche's I drank, maybe it's the chocolate or maybe it's this darn journal of my sl escapades and fashion and likes and don't likes.   Just today I rediscovered an old love of mine. A simple and quaint experience in the middle of the hustle and bustle that is second life. A lovely little scenic sanctuary and tranquil spot. Yes, if you know what it is, shush. From the rolling-green hills like Ireland, to the scenic architecture of olden Celtic relics and ruins, to the cute sheep and the vegetable patches, these sims are just too painstakingly well made and thought out.   I think most of you have gone here, but if you have not, please do come. Take a look, some respite and just listen to the rolling waves as you drive your roadster around the sims.  The following demonstrate just a few shots detailing how stunningly well done these sims are.

As for my outfit, I decided to go a bit "vintagey".  Hair is 50's inspired and if I look like Lana Del Rey, well she copied me alright? What can I say? Irina is that magical winks.  The eyeglasses are cat-eyed and are in red to match the belt and the shoes. The cross I wore because I just loved it from first sight. The dress is a simple girly chambray style and looks great with the belt, and the necklace, very summery yet very fashionable.. The shoes are my summer go to wedges in red, which I do tend to overuse because they do remind me of a pair that I had in rl and lost because of my old cat. And of course, the bag is a funky bag, just to add some color and shock to the look.

And the ride begins through the bed and breakfast, look at me trying to be all serious.
Oh those old Celtic ruins and sheep in the background.
An aerial view of part of the area.

Forgot the Lindens at home, darn it!

The Home.

All About the Home

Sometimes one notices an item in a store or several sims and falls in love with the items. Sometimes one decided that they just want to hit the sim owner in the head get them to change their names with yours, and then take their land and just claim it as your sl home. The latter always been the one you basically never let out. Haha. Well, I recently went to two sims I absolutely loved. One was the Zacca store's main sim. A particular favorite of mine for great textures and lovely and unique items such as pathways and gates etc it also had an amazing look to it. Here, let me show you: (For clothes information feel free to look at my flicker url, I have some information there.) Of course, I then went to U.F.O which is one of my fave stores, and discovered the incredibly detailed and somewhat secretive garden in there. It was just so great that they inspired me to change my house and freshen the look. So then I just had to edit my house so as a sneak preview hehe because I will surely brag about my house every month. So there you have it my dears, I took what I saw and made a variation of it. With my New Trails items and my house. I hope you liked it. Please do comment if you like. Cheers and XOXO. Bye

A Premise

Irina Forwzy is my sl birth name. Irina Olive Oil Deschanel, is my chosen name. Call me Olive in short. I was born in a small field up in the Northern Ramparts of the Galileo sim, near the free nachos stand. I first started in theater perfecting my sl drama faces and then went on to do some rather fun work of using those skills. I worked in several sims and even killed zombies in my 50's clothes. But alas, those days of running have worn me out and thus I have decided to sit back and take a few moments to relax, unwind and write a most glorious journal of my travels, my clothes, my looks, my house, and of course those few things that have caught my eye but might be eyesores for all but well, the one using the said offending item. So yes, I hope this journal that has now been leaked to the internet, finds it's way in your darling hands. And I should say sir, that you will most likely love it. For the future entries, there will of course be explanations. I might also critique items in a light matter. But mostly be me randomly commenting on things. Well off I go to my sl life. To discover some random drama, or better yet lovely sim.
